At United Medical and Aesthetics, Aleta Sloan, PA-C offers patients ways to achieve healthier, more vibrant, and youthful skin. To do this, many patients can use the CoolPeel and Tetra CO2 therapy treatments to achieve their desired results. Wilmington, North Carolina area men and women can take time to learn about laser skin rejuvenation and resurfacing available at our practice.
WHAT IS THE CO2 RESURFACING TREATMENT USED FOR?
CO2 remains the GOLD STANDARD in skin resurfacing and antiaging. A mild resurfacing treatment, known as the CoolPeel, is a dramatic way to improve the skin’s texture and tone.

Aleta Sloan has the training to use Tetra CO2 to perform deeper resurfacing for more significant wrinkles around the mouth, eyes, and entire face to obtain dramatic results. This is generally for someone in their late 40’s to even up to 80’s. It is used to:
- Improve skin tone
- Even out pigmentation
- Eliminate sunspots
- Smooth fine lines, deep wrinkles, and sun damage
- Correct color problems/hyperpigmentation
- Tighten facial skin
- Enhance radiant appearance
WHERE CAN CO2 RESURFACING BE PERFORMED?
Most of our patients utilize the treatment to improve skin texture and tone on the face, but you can also use it on other areas such as the neck, chest, arms, and hands.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR CO2 SKIN RESURFACING TREATMENTS?
Patients who are great candidates for this rejuvenation treatment have realistic expectations regarding the results they can achieve. Patients often want to avoid surgical procedures that can be invasive, expensive, and require extensive downtime and recovery. We first talk to patients during a consultation visit to better understand their needs and decide if this treatment would be appropriate to achieve their desired changes.
HOW DO I EXTEND THE RESULTS OF MY RESURFACING TREATMENT?
We recommend specific long-term care instructions to patients who want to protect their investments. Below are a few tips to consider to extend the longevity of your results:
- Avoid retinoids for the first two weeks after treatment and use them gradually at first
- Avoid sunbathing or direct sunlight without significant skin protection
- Use sunblock after the skin begins to scab and wear it each day
- Avoid dying treatments such as hair dyes and spray-on tan products
- Continue to have treatments performed to provide cumulative results if recommended
