What is Frax 1550 Laser Treatment?

The Frax 1550 is a next-generation laser that uses high-grade, medical technology to deliver a deeper skin resurfacing experience.

It’s designed for non-ablative skin rejuvenation, which means it doesn’t actually remove the top layer of skin. Instead, it warms up the underlying layers of skin by strategically administering small columns of heat energy – without hurting the surface.

This helps stimulate collagen production, in addition to addressing a variety of skin concerns.

One of the ways it’s unique is that it uses a software algorithm to set treatment parameters. This ensures your utmost safety and comfort, as the pulses and energy brackets can be manually adjusted to create a personalized experience.

The roller is programmed to offer consistent resurfacing only, giving you the more balanced, even skin tone you desire.

Frax 1550 laser Device

The device’s quiet demeanor helps promote a peaceful environment while your laser treatment is taking place.

Using an advanced system that penetrates into the deeper layers of the dermis, the Frax 1550 laser treats common skin concerns like:

  • Fine lines
  • Stretch marks
  • Wrinkles
  • Textured skin
  • Acne and acne scars
  • Surgery or traumatic scars

This is a great option if your skin tone falls between type I and V*.

What Can I Expect?

During your initial visit, you and our laser treatment specialist will discuss your skin concerns.

You may be advised to come in with a fresh face – no makeup, lotions or creams. On the day of your laser rejuvenation treatment, your skin will be cleaned. A topical anesthetic cream will be applied to the desired treatment area about 30-60 minutes before the procedure. This helps to reduce discomfort and maximize tolerability throughout the treatment.

Once you’re rested comfortably, a pair of eye goggles will be given to you in order to protect your eyes from the laser.

The treatment will begin and may last between 15-45 minutes, depending on the treated area. Once the laser treatment is over, the skin will be cooled and sunscreen will be applied. You may be advised to avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds in order to maximize your results. You may also be advised to regularly apply SPF30 sunscreen.

Most patients receive at least three treatments, spaced out one month apart. After that, yearly maintenance might be advised.

Does It Hurt?

The Frax 1550 is a medical-grade, high-powered machine. Any discomfort you may feel is typically short-lived. Most patients tolerate it quite well.

To minimize discomfort and promote the most relaxing experience possible, the laser also comes with SoftCool technology that emits a consistent flow of cool air onto the skin both during and after the treatment.

How Long Will It Take to Heal?

Not only will the Frax 1550 give you beautifully refreshed skin, it does so with minimal downtime.

Your skin may look pink for the next day or so, depending on what settings were used and how long the treatment took.

Please refer to your aftercare instructions for which facial cleansers and moisturizers are safe to use.
